  To be fair, its not Mastodon, its the #Fediverse. Mastodon is arguably the least rich platfrom on the 'verse. IMHO Friendica is where its at, and you can still communicate with all the twitter refugees on Mastodon, as well as meater content on services likeDiaspora*, not to mention full integration with Lemmy (which works fairly similar to Reddit) while Masto you can see lemmy posts and replies without having to...   As for music, I use a spotify premium account to do a remote listening session. It's been my best solution so far. A friend of mine uses watch2gether.com, its a great free option to integrate music and video streaming. It's not ideal for a whole host of reasons, if you ask me, but it IS free and simple. It helps a lot!
