To be fair, its not Mastodon, its the #Fediverse. Mastodon is arguably the least rich platfrom on the 'verse. IMHO Friendica is where its at, and you can still communicate with all the twitter refugees on Mastodon, as well as meater content on services likeDiaspora*, not to mention full integration with Lemmy (which works fairly similar to Reddit) while Masto you can see lemmy posts and replies without having to... I want to use old software from 2011 (https://sourceforge.net/projects/nokuntu/). It doesn't exist in the official Ubuntu repository anymore. The .deb package from sourceforge has a big list of unmet dependencies. This is the use case where Linux fails miserably compare to Windows. Every time linux distro updates, all packages have to be updated. On windows, you build it once, and it works even 10 years later.... Source: almost 2 years ago
