To each their own, but some games are fun even if you're getting curbstomped. Barring some exceptions (which I couldn't cite but I am sure exist) it's more about the kind of player you are. For example even after 900 hours of playing Mordhau I sometimes get completely annihilated, but the game is so fun that I don't even care. Source: almost 3 years ago
