The primary role of Di-LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) software is to optimize and streamline laboratory operations. It accomplishes this by offering a range of critical functions and capabilities:
Efficiency and Speed: Di-LIMS is designed to be blazing-fast, ensuring that laboratory processes can be executed swiftly and without unnecessary delays. This speed is essential for maintaining productivity and meeting research and analysis deadlines.
Security: Di-LIMS places a high priority on data security within your lab management team. It provides a secure environment for handling sensitive laboratory data, protecting it from unauthorized access, and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
Sample Management: One of the core functions of Di-LIMS is to facilitate sample management from the moment of collection through to shipment. It allows for the creation of detailed sample records, including information like sample type, source, and associated metadata. This ensures accurate and organized tracking of samples throughout their lifecycle.
Personalized Workflows: Di-LIMS empowers laboratories to set up personalized workflows that align with their specific needs. These workflows can be customized to accommodate different experiments and operational requirements, automating tasks and reducing the risk of human errors.
Storage Space Monitoring: Managing storage space is a crucial aspect of laboratory management. Di-LIMS offers real-time monitoring and visualization of storage locations within the lab. This feature simplifies navigation and retrieval processes, making it easy for researchers to find the samples they need when they need them.

For eyeball time picks to drive min inconvenience for a group, every tz (after customizing for my tz of choice) was just easier. Glad to have variety in this annoying problem space; more tools hopefully mean less bad scheduling of things. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
