  • My OC team
I love https://describingwords.io/ and https://www.wordhippo.com/ as helpful writing tools. Source: 5 months ago
  • Cool Writing Resources
Describingwords.io: Pretty self-explanatory - you enter a noun and it provides adjectives you can use to describe it. Really helpful if you struggle with repeating adjectives because you can't find any alternatives. Source: 12 months ago
  • Having trouble describing physical actions
DescribingWords.io “Which noun would you like to describe? Click words for definitions.”. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Alright, writers. I need some advice on describing someone's laughter.
Https://describingwords.io is really helpful to me for these kinds of thing! Inputting laughter, I got: unrestrained, heartless, shrill, contemptuous, manical, loud, among others. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Anybody else switch between multiple tabs while working on a fic?
I had to look at mine and count, out of curiosity. Six story tabs, a thesaurus tab, two other word-selection tabs (describingwords.io and relatedwords.org), and a lyrics/lines tab for titling. Then fucking AO3 tabs for READING bc of COURSE. :D. Source: about 2 years ago

I Write Like mentions (10)

  • Grammarly told me that my writing is "a bit bland"
For fun I use I Write Like, it analyzes your writing and tells you the closest match to a published author. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Different "styles" of writing.
When I let this bot analyze my writing ( https://iwl.me ), the most frequent result I get is that I write like Agatha Cristie. There are 50 authors you could possibly be matched with and I would have thought I might be more likely to be matched with Rowling or Gaiman or even Doyle... But I think every time but once it's matched me with her. :). Source: over 2 years ago
  • Question: What do you use to write your stories?
I also use this cool website from time to time (https://iwl.me ) that tells you which author's writing style your writing resembles. Source: over 2 years ago
  • So what does "no nonsense" mean?
In another thread today, about the I Write Like (iwl.me) website, a lot of people were likened to Agatha Christie, me included. I don't care for Christie, but I do like the idea of "no nonsense," but I'm not sure what it means. It just feels good. Can someone give some examples of writing which does incorporate "nonsense?". Source: over 2 years ago
  • [Activity] Which famous author do you write like?
Https://iwl.me/ -- write a bit into the box, and it'll tell you which famous author you write like! Source: over 2 years ago
