A local political candidate asked me to implement a direct democracy platform for their term in office (and hopefully beyond). I am currently choosing among Consul, DemocracyOS, and Congreso Virtual, I also saw Pol.is but I think they are not suitable for our purpose. While it still is far from perfect, if you want more structured debates then debateart.com is a good option from what I can tell. It seems to be a clone of debate.org with a bunch of people that used to be members there but have moved since the site started to collapse (due to bugs, poor moderation, etc.).
