Based on our record, DBeaver seems to be a lot more popular than StarUML. While we know about 95 links to DBeaver, we've tracked only 5 mentions of StarUML. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
I usually deal with data spread across multiple databases and my tool for the job of inspecting resources and test some simple queries was dbeaver, which is great, but it can be overwhelming in terms of visual information (specially on my use case). I needed speed, I needed something in the terminal, I needed vim. - Source: dev.to / about 1 month ago
Now that we've talked about databases, we are going to look at some software for connecting and managing your databases. DBeaver is a good free software that works on all platforms. But for those who are using JetBrains, you can also use Datagrip. - Source: dev.to / 28 days ago
It’s cool to show a demo and talk about the infrastructure with cute diagrams, but I always want to prove, even if just to myself, that things work as expected. So I thought a good way to test it would be to try connecting directly to both databases using my database client, DBeaver. - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago

As a great alternative to DBeaver, DBGate provides a variety of tools to manage your databases. Besides in built-in support charts and a query builder, you can use Javascript to query data. It even supports NoSQL drivers and native script builders. Give it a try if your project demands simplicity over in-depth features for SQL databases. - Source: dev.to / 5 months ago

I've heard people have used StarUML https://staruml.io ,but it looks like it generates flowcharts based on GUI interface graphical models for javascript you build and, I guess also for the javascript in StarUML which helps generate some python code based... There are many tools that can be used to create a class diagram like StarUML, Draw.io and other software tools. - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
Focus should be on a UML tool, not Visio. Visio is a UML tool...technically, but there are others which are much better. I like this one. https://staruml.io/. Source: almost 3 years ago
DataGrip - Tool for SQL and databases
draw.io - Online diagramming application
MySQL Workbench - MySQL Workbench is a unified visual tool for database architects, developers, and DBAs.
PlantUML - PlantUML is an open-source tool that uses simple textual descriptions to draw UML diagrams.
HeidiSQL - HeidiSQL is a powerful and easy client for MySQL, MariaDB, Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL. Open source and entirely free to use.
LucidChart - LucidChart is the missing link in online productivity suites. LucidChart allows users to create, collaborate on, and publish attractive flowcharts and other diagrams from a web browser.
