Gotcha. The 1x per hour is Google's limit for all extensions using their scheduling functionality. I believe some other extensions get around it by running data through their own servers instead of Google's, so you can check the marketplace for alternatives and see if you find anything. If you are open to svg based gifs, it is so much easier. SVG is a far different image technology than bitmap. There are no issues with the ghosted edges and it will be crisp at any size. Because it is actually code and not pixels, you can even change a lot of it after it is made.
