Not a book but a comic, but I've always been fond of the different elves in Elfquest - they are all the same race (in the sense of having common ancestors many generations back) but there is so much diversity. No, but you do have A complete story line. The story continues of course, but the first 8 books are sort of a trilogy (1-4 a complete story, 5-6 a complete story, 7-8 a complete story) and are regarded as the best. Everything after that has mixed reviews. I've especially enjoyed Future Quest, so imagine my dismay when the story abruptly ended with nothing resolved. I don't know if this is a mistake - I emailed the folks at elfquest.com to ask, but the emails bounced back - or if it was never completed. Source: over 1 year ago
