D3 allows you to bind arbitrary data to a Document Object Model (DOM), and then apply data-driven transformations to the document. For example, you can use D3 to generate an HTML table from an array of numbers. Or, use the same data to create an interactive SVG bar chart with smooth transitions and interaction.

D3 is not a monolithic framework that seeks to provide every conceivable feature. Instead, D3 solves the crux of the problem: efficient manipulation of documents based on data. This avoids proprietary representation and affords extraordinary flexibility, exposing the full capabilities of web standards such as HTML, SVG, and CSS. With minimal overhead, D3 is extremely fast, supporting large datasets and dynamic behaviors for interaction and animation. D3’s functional style allows code reuse through a diverse collection of official and community-developed modules.

6 JavaScript Charting Libraries for Powerful Data Visualizations in 2023
Depending on your requirements, the best JavaScript library is D3.js, as it’s by far the most customizable. However, it’s also really complex and difficult to master. Plus, it’s not as compatible with TypeScript as it is with JavaScript, which can be off-putting for some developers. If you’d prefer a less complex library that you can use with TypeScript, ECharts, and...

  • Observable 2.0, a static site generator for data apps
Yep, Evidence is doing good work. We were most directly inspired by VitePress; we spent months rewriting both D3’s docs (https://d3js.org) and Observable Plot’s docs (https://observablehq.com/plot) in VitePress, and absolutely loved the experience. But we wanted a tool focused on data apps, dashboards, reports — observability and business intelligence use cases rather than documentation. Compared to Evidence, I’d... - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago

  • Finished my 2nd Detroit-themed livery in Gran Turismo last night
The Better Made logo I downloaded from brandsoftheworld.com and was pretty big. I had to watch a bunch of tutorials on how to use Inkscape to edit and modify the files. I ended up having to break up the better made logo file into like 8 different parts so I could upload them all. Something as complex as a face would take me months to figure out how to do. • How can I create a border around those 2 logos? I want to leave them white but need to print them on white decal paper sheet, so the only way I can do that is adding black borders to them. any idea? I can't find anything online
You could always just go to brandsoftheworld.com and search for "hellcat" to get the actual logo vector. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Help? Why can't I erase aspects of this logo? It was copy/pasted from the internet.
