I loved the concept. A company like custommade.com (I have no affiliation BTW) could be used to design and make each ring according to the person's preference. At first I was going to have the entire ring customized through custommade.com, but after several failed CAD attempts, I truly think the ring style I want is too complex for them to replicate even after I have given them many photos and interactive videos from several different angles of the exact ring I want. In addition to a jeweler or etsy, there are some websites that are specifically set up for custom jewelry. I used CustomMade for my fiance's ring, and we both adore how it came out. You can even download a CAD model of the gear you want & scale it down to the size you're looking to use, and then get it made from shapeways.com or find an SLA printer or something. Source: about 2 years ago
