Not sure where you're looking at that at but the direct homepage the updated Form3 which is Form3+ is 2,499 retails. Ebay itself is a marketplace of individual sellers. What they value it as and see it as is up to them entirely. If you look at formlabs.com they don't sell the regular 3 or 2 anymore. Refurbish Form 3 is there but I'm sure thats the last of whatever is left in warehouse. Source: about 1 year ago
Or if you need very detailed models, their dlp printer is great too - but the leaders in the resin area are more formlabs (https://formlabs.com/). Resin printing is great for extremely detailed items, but it's generally more expensive and requires more time investment for the parts (prep and post-processing required) - but still definitely hobbyist/casual friendly.
