I've found https://componentsearchengine.com/ to be useful for finding 3D models for kicad, it seemed to be pretty complete too IIRC. Pretty sure it's free, but maybe needs an account (?). Source: over 2 years ago
The model itself is a step file. They are often available from the component manufacturer. Or go to snapeda.com. Search for the manufacturer's part number. Or, create your own with a tool like FreeCAD. Source: over 2 years ago
