I can heartily recommend Commander One, a kind of two-pane Finder app. Not only useful for many things on your Mac, but it enables you to mount your Android on your Mac, make new folders, transfer files etc. Yes, it is $30, but you will not regret your purchase. Commander One is pretty cool. I hear you about the subscription model. I'm happy to subscribe for apps that are crucial for my workflow (incl. Path Finder) but I wouldn't want to set up repeating payments for apps that I didn't use so much. Source: about 2 years ago
