I am using a free email server (cock.li) and it is kind of slow. The config file works to compose and send messages from within the program. No the ip and the port are both open. I get this error when I do a smtp.yandex.com connection but it doesn't appear when I do mail.yandex.com, yet when I do the latter it doesn't send emails. Why could that be? Source: about 2 years ago
So I've just checked the mx history and it appears that the domain was once associated with Yandex. You can try logging in but it is not guaranteed to work. https://mail.yandex.com/. Source: over 2 years ago
