I am using a free email server (cock.li) and it is kind of slow. The config file works to compose and send messages from within the program. When I send a message from the command line, however, I get an "alarm clock" message, and the message doesn't send. I have found that "alarm clock" is a timeout, and I know this server is slow. I've been using https://mxguarddog.com/ for years and it does a pretty good job at stopping spam. I'd say maybe 1 email breaks through a month but compared to the amount that shows up in the quarantine list it has a very high stop rate. Source: over 2 years ago
