I have been manually skirting around these obfuscated links by just selecting the title text of the article and doing a web search, or using a service like https://checkshorturl.com, but this seems like a perfect opportunity for an email provider to do that work instead by automatically revealing these targets for its users. How does something like https://checkshorturl.com/ work? Source: over 1 year ago
I assume there must be some way to disable this function, but it would be a bad idea for you to click links without knowing where they're sending you. Especially make sure you check shortened URIs from random people online (e.g. Reddit posts) using services like tinyurl or similar, using a checker, like https://checkshorturl.com/. Tip: I use Adblock Plus on desktop, and AdGuard on iPhone and iPad. - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
Adblock plus => I only use this one with Edge because Opera has a default adblocker of its own, but this is also a very welcome extension and something that can (and will) keep you safe! Source: 7 months ago
Why doesn't easylist.to link to its own version of the Fanboy's Annoyance List? Why are the lists (and especially the "EasyList Germany") on the mirror (?) of adblockplus.org more up-to-date than on easylist.to? Source: about 1 year ago
That can be annoying. Do you see them on Flipboard or when you navigate to the actual website of the article? If that's the case, then it would be up to the website that is hosting the article. I would recommend a good popup/ad blocker like adblock plus. Source: about 1 year ago
