I have two layers of filtering. Layer 1 is the "Subscription" layer like you mention. I also have a Layer 2 which is not all episodes of a Podcast are meaningful for me. Therefore, I don't listen to ALL episodes. A Podcast app like Castro is extremely beneficial in making an active decision to add a podcast to my queue [0]. I've seen a few posts about this but they're a few years old, and I wasn't sure if things may have changed. I know that data caps etc matter less these days with larger data plans. That said, I'd love some advice. The service I'm going for, transistor.fm, recommends MP3. They also recommend a max file size of 200MB. Both in mono, an MP3 version of my first episode is 38.5MB.
