Carveco ARCHLine.XPWe switched to ARCHLine.XP after exploring using ArchiCAD then Revit and exploring a few others. There was an initial struggle to get our minds around the interface and to it took a little time to redo our templates and set up our design office the way we liked. It had taken us many years to perfect things in our former software and it took about 2 weeks to transfer those settings to ARCHLineXP but it has been well worth it. With only a few exceptions such as creating new window types ARCHLine.XP is significantly faster and easier and more flexible for us and the initial pain of switching (which was great) is paying off every time we use the ARCHLine.XP so the experience has been a rewarding one all round.
Based on our record, Carveco seems to be more popular. It has been mentiond 2 times since March 2021. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
Artcam got discontinued a while ago but the original team rebranded it asCarveco. As I understand it, most of the original functionality is the same and you have a decent chance of finding people to help with the transition back and forth. Source: about 1 year ago
Personally I would start with the flip technique using something like Carveco or fusion 360. Any machine would be able to do this fine, just pick one that is suitably sized. Shapeoko is very beginner friendly and generally nice to use. Source: almost 3 years ago
