Over the weekend, media and digital brand holding company IAC announced that it had agreed to buy Care.com, which describes itself as “the world’s largest online family care platform,” in a deal valued at about $500 million. Despite being the best-known marketplace in the United States for finding child and senior caregivers, Care.com has spent the past nine months dealing...

Sitter assumes you and your friends aren’t among the 16 percent of parents that hoard their babysitter’s contact information to keep friends from poaching, according to Care.com. Whether you’re looking for a teen babysitter, college sitter, or a seasoned nanny, the app enables you to create a private network of other parents and trusted babysitters, so you can find new...
5 Questions with Isabela Nunez and Silvia Travesani of Campanizer
Travesani: We have competition. Other companies in the space, like Sawyer, Care.com Explore (formerly Galore), and ActivityHero, have focused on provider registration technology and activity directories. Our emphasis on parent coordination leads to faster growth, higher activity registration rates and drives the sought-after word-of-mouth lead generation for activity providers.

Best Dog Walking App: Rover vs Wag vs Barkly Pets

Best 6 Sites Like Care.com for Finding Caregivers
Rover.com was founded in 2011, is like Care.com, and is very similar to DogVacay. It helps pet owners connect with dog sitters so their pet doesn’t have to spend time at a kennel. • Child care in Napa/ looking for a Nanny
Hi folks, were moving to Napa at the end of the month and are looking into options for childcare for our one year old. Were looking for nannys on care.com and that has been hit or miss. Wondering if anyone here knows of any good nannys in Napa proper or have ideas for kids as young as ours. PS it seems most daycare type places want 2+ years old. Source: about 11 hours ago
  • Long-term nursing home recommendations
We've also gone through care.com and other similar websites. But the PCAs there usually don't want to go through the PCA program in MA and often want about ~$5-$20 more per hour, which we can't afford to pay out of pocket. Source: 3 days ago
  • Nanny benefits
We do all paid holidays, 2 weeks vacation and unlimited sick leave (we trust our nanny and she does not abuse this benefit). We also provide a health care stipend and a yearly bonus. Our nanny is also on our car insurance and has full use of our car to take kids to activities/preschool etc. If she ever has to use her car, we provide mileage reimbursement. We found our nanny on care.com, but it was a lot of... Source: 4 days ago
  • I'm 30 years old making $30k in the DFW area. What are some effective ways to increase my income? What have you done to survive?
What is your line of work? Is it food service? It all depends on what you do for a living or what you want to do. Washington, Connecticut, Massachusetts and California have all gone to a $15 an hour minimum wage. The cost of living is high in California so I would not recommend that state. any employer paying less than 15 an hour is so unethical that nobody should work for them. Even babysitters on care.com... Source: 6 days ago
  • Agency Question!
I'm trying to get creative about finding great candidates to represent, but I have found a lot of nannies are not on LinkedIn, and are finding jobs through word of mouth or on care.com and such. Source: 5 days ago

  • I don’t really know what to do about my Job situation
Dog walkers in Toronto make $25 for a half an hour walk. Many advertise on rover.com, others put up flyers on local light posts or bulletin boards offering services. Babysitting for parents who go out at night - $15-$20 an hour. Less in smaller cities than Toronto. Source: about 1 month ago
