Get caffeine.exe from this link (bottom of the page). It's just an exe file. No installation. It sits in the bottom right corner. It will press F15 every 59 seconds. Download the free and excellent GrandPerspective app and scan your disk, it will show you in a nested grahical form what is taking space. Maybe it's a sleep image, maybe it's on-disk TM backups cos you haven't connected your TM disk in a while, maybe it's some crazy big cache... GP will let you know so you can fix it.
