For "normal" games you could look yourself using ProtonDB regarding every game released on Steam and AreWeAntiCheatYet for most multiplayer games. If a game isn't available on Steam you have three possibilities. First if it's available on GOG, Epic Games or Amazon Gaming, you could use the Heroic Games Launcher. I'd also like to throw in Windows Ameliorated as an option to a less bloated, more privacy friendly version of Windows. Been using it myself for the last couple of years and haven't run into many issues. Only real issue I had is that I had to manually install .NET Framework from the windows iso for gaming, but a quick search solved that. Source: 11 months ago
