u can make something online pretty easy. Beepbox makes melodies. You can make drum beats with this thing. I love this program for texture and noise called blokdust. And obxd is super fun to play around with. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) like Ardour or LMMS are like the "Office suite" of music making. They are big programs that can record, arrange, and edit audio and MIDI tracks, add effects, mix and export etc. - Source: Reddit / about 20 hours ago
You might want to check out Ardour, which is donation-ware on Windows but is usually free on Linux distros (it's fully FLOSS and they use the subscriptions from Windows and macOS users as well as general donations to help fund development). It's my DAW of choice and works quite well for what I do (generally vocal recordings with karaoke tracks). - Source: Reddit / 1 day ago
Hello everyone! This is a track I've been working on with a friend who's crazy about DNB, livecoded with the TidalCycles programming framework, recorded with Ardour, and lightly edited in Audacity. - Source: Reddit / 12 days ago
No DRM is necessary ever. The simplest way is to ask for money and setup a paywall in front of the binaries as seen here. - Source: Reddit / 15 days ago
Ardour is another open source project (GPL2). It has paid binaries, but you can compile from source if you want it for free. It can do pretty much anything LMMS does + recording, but has less default instruments and samples. It is also imo a bit more annoying to set up. A great source to learn from in ardour though is unfa. In his older videos he is using LMMS, but newer ones are ardour. - Source: Reddit / 18 days ago
