Based on our record, Google Cast SDK should be more popular than Bitmovin HTML5 Player. It has been mentiond 3 times since March 2021. The change to the "new API and player" just happened last year, and is built using Bitmovin. They list a variety of platforms for support (see here, including Smart TVs. That means it should be possible. Whether or not they decide to do it is a different question. Source: about 3 years ago
Fairly sure that's how the Chromecast SDK works. That will cover a good amount of ground for you, as many modern TVs are chromecast targets. Source: about 3 years ago
