  • The WinRAR Approach
What do you miss? The ability to view an archive's contents without having to extract it first, and extract individual files? That can be achieved with BetterZip: https://macitbetter.com > The other one is Total Commander... Check out Transmit by Panic. It's technically a remote file transfer software, but can also be used for the local filesystem. https://panic.com/transmit. - Source: Hacker News / 20 days ago

In a similar vein to WinRAR, there’s BetterZip for macOS users: https://macitbetter.com/ It’s nice. I got it in a cheap Mac software bundle many moons ago and ended up upgrading to the latest version. Daily driver as far as GUI is concerned. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago

  • Native BRAW Support in Final Cut Pro!
Exciting Times! Lots of very smart developers told me it would be impossible to add BRAW support to #FCPX. Lots told me it would be impossible to do it on the App Store. However, I am working in Adobe 99% of the time. I have not spent much time with Command Post but I sense that it is a hill I have neither the time nor technical knowhow to climb. So I'm curious if there's anything else out there that is close to the feel and has inertia like the Speed Editor, that is easy to work with/has some low level integration with Premiere. I will say, when I have to use the apple Magic... Source: over 2 years ago
  • No board is safe from modding.
I can confirm that CommandPost works! I tried it out today and while it took me a few minutes of tweaking the settings, now the Speed Editor is fully rebindable in any app in MacOS either using keyboard shortcuts or menu iteums. It take a little getting used to the CommandPost interface, but once you’ve mapped everything, you don’t have to use it unless you want to make changes. My major issue is that there’s no... • [META] Can we add a section on the wiki with useful apps?
CommandPost - Plug-in suite for Premiere and FCPX primarily for using control surfaces. Mainly I’ve used this to enable scrolling timeline on FCPX but I’m sure there’s so much more to discover in this app. Source: about 3 years ago
