Considering your rich background in C++ and Haskell, along with your interest in functional programming paradigms, I wouldn't necessarily predict that Ballerina will "blow your mind." This is basically how product photography works if you’re on a budget. You keep the camera fixed in place but adjust the lighting between shots.
