• What is this red exclamation mark in my Mac preferences view?

  I've been seeing this red exclamation mark in my Backblaze preferences view on my Mac. When I click it, it only takes me to my account view on backblaze.com. Obviously, it's intended to indicate that something isn't right, but I get no information. I recently deleted my existing backup and am starting fresh with my personal machine and two external drives. I'm running 8.5.0.660 (20230127194041) on Ventura 13.1.1 (a). Source: about 1 year ago

  For redundancy, why don't you look at one more copy of your data or what you believe to be important in cloud? Wasabi or Backblaze look like perfect candidates to me.   I flashed the boot repair ISO (64 bit) onto a usb drive using Balena Etcher.   If you altered the MBR but haven't deleted the recovery partition, you can make it bootable again by installing GRUB and os-prober (for example with the Boot-Repair disk). Depending on the type of recovery partition, it either comes up as "Windows Recovery Environment" or just "Windows 7", so don't confuse it with a standard Windows 7 installation.   I had a similar problem when I tried to install neon on a btrfs formatted drive. I'm not familiar with uefi though. You could try the boot repair disc https://sourceforge.net/projects/boot-repair-cd/ . The problem is that some packages normally get deleted after bootloader is installed, which won't happen here. You might need to remove them manually. That says my solution is not perfect and shouldn't be your first... Source: about 2 years ago
