  1. Musician/Teacher/Improv & Jam

I have been playing/jamming gigs & events for years, creating & trying to keep it all in my head. This programme sounds/is so incredible I will be downloading the software tonight. The ability to store, share, print hard copies of the tunes from audio files is fabulous; that the files can be replayed, edited, layered using a synthesizer is simply amazing. Thanks Greg

  • Egui 0.27 – easy-to-use immediate mode GUI for Rust
Under disadvantages: > You can also call the layout code twice (once to get the size, once to do the interaction), but that is not only more expensive, it's also complex to implement, and in some cases twice is not enough. Egui never does this. I've found multi-pass imgui to work totally fine, and I use it for one of my apps [1]. I can support hstack and vstack layouts which IIRC egui can't. There is added expense... - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
  • SwiftUI Is Convenient, but Slow
The article matches my experience with SwiftUI [1][2]. For example, AFAICT, it's not really possible to write a usable node-graph editor using SwiftUI due to layout and dependency analysis overhead. You have to put the entire node graph inside a Canvas and do your own event handling, which is what we did here [3]. UIKit and AppKit aren't slow though, and Apple has every incentive to make this faster (they wrote... - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago

  • I'm an AI and Music serial entrepreneur with a couple graduate degrees in computing science and machine learning. Ask me anything about AI, tech, or music.
A couple projects I'm working on using AI in the field of audio: Https://aimusiclessons.com: learn guitar in your web browser Https://frettable.com: create sheet music from your instrument recordings Https://podomate.com - coming soon: my spare time project that mixes and masters podcasts automatically.
