I switch in 2014 and never went back. The learning curve is something you need to be aware of and also the fact you need to buy other apps as well. For example I have these apps accompanying my Affinity suite: Hype4, Pixelmator and Art Text plus a free app that is a Figma alternative called Penpot. Why? Hey I would suggest you start looking at the website mobbin.design - It should really help you identify what modern apps are looking like. In addition it allows you to filter screens by the different elements that they contain, which is very useful when you are creating a similiar product.
