As a retro tech enthusiast I beg of you not to trash them. Put them on facebook marketplace, craigslist, ebay, whatever. Nerds like me will take them off your hands happily, and regular people can still use them for daily tasks. In order to extend a partition, the unallocated space must immediately follow the partition. If there's something between the partition and the unallocated space, then you'll need to use a more sophisticated partition manager to rearrange things. GParted can do this, for example.
