Selling software has evolved in the last decade: taking payments on any screen size or natively in a Mac or Windows app, subscription business models that bring in new complexities... Paddle was built to take on these new challenges head-on.

We are different for 3 reasons: 1) We are a software company, building for other software companies, and are driven by developers, not sales reps or financiers 2) We've built a modern platform that is an actual pleasure to use and manage and doesn't restrict what you can do because it was built decades ago 3) We will grow your revenue because our streamlined checkout converts higher and our promotional tools make it easier to test and scale your marketing ideas

Payment Platforms Comparison: Stripe vs Chargebee vs Paddle vs Recurly

Would you use Paddle, Chargebee, Chargify, or just Stripe?
You make some very good points for Paddle. Those make sense for a business that is making money and farther down the road. But what about a business that has no revenue and just starting out? Would using something simple like Stripe checkout be better in that case? maybe when I expand to EU I could look at switching to Paddle?

  • Commerzbank Mastercard unknown charge
Hello. On 29.09 I got a notification about a charge from my MasterCard. I waited 3 days to see what is charge about, and I saw it said pay.amazon.com amazon.de. I contacted and blocked my credit card immediately, because I was not aware of that transaction, nor did I get Photo TAN confirmation. Source: 7 months ago
  • Show HN: List of Stripe Alternatives
Seems like every time there's a negative Stripe story on here, the inevitable question, "any alternatives?" gets asked. Hell, I was tempted to ask myself. Instead, I decided to search hn.algolia.com to see for myself what others have recommended in the past. Might as well share the list with y'all, make it meta. -- 2Checkout | https://www.2checkout.com Adyen | https://www.adyen.com Amazon Pay |... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago

Https://pay.amazon.com/ has been a thing for a very long time. I integrated it into a site back in... The late 2000s, I think? - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • Prevent NordVPN from autorenewing your subscription behind your back
Then go to pay.amazon.com and look in the Current payment agreement for the Nord agreement. Disable that. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • How to know order status from GoodSmile when paying with Amazon pay instead of creating an account?
If you go to pay.amazon.com and log in as a shopper you can see all your Amazon Pay transactions. Hopefully your order is on there. There's a dropdown menu on each order where you can deal with issues such as order status, returns, etc. Source: almost 2 years ago

  • Do software licenses remain activated across all users in a single computer?
In my case I’m using Paddle to handle licensing for my non-AppStore apps like Lunar. Source: over 1 year ago
  • 30 a month for a simple cms is insane
Also, I would suggest Paddle too — it’s only for digital products, memberships, and stuff like that (unlike Stripe which can be used for way more than that), but it has an all-in-one payment toolbox, so no hassle with setting up and things like that. Just make an initial setup and you are ready to go. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Suggested way to receive payments?
I'm using Paddle. I'm based in EU and Paddle helps with taxes handling. I integrated Paddle with static HTML sites and React&Django. I used monthly/yearly subscription, one-time payments. Their documentation is OK for me - no problem with REST API, webhooks, or checkout overlays. All works. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Automate GitHub API Calls With Ruby, Keyboard Maestro, and 1Password CLI
To do that would require implementing a custom checkout that captures the customer's GitHub username, so I can then pass it on to the Paddle checkout flow. Paddle unfortunately doesn't support adding custom fields to their checkout. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
  • How to Sell a One-time Purchase in Rails With Stripe
Stripe isn't the only provider in the online payment space. Paddle is another huge player in the online payment space. Paddle offers a lot of features similar to Stripe, but for a slightly higher fee and an anecdotally worse developer experience. While several other competitors are alternatives to Stripe, the sheer popularity of their products for online payments make them an easy choice. - Source: dev.to / almost 2 years ago
