I use the OpenWeather API to receive the current temperature data by providing the latitude and longitude coordinates as query strings in the request. A Lambda function invokes the weather API and sends the current temperature value as a custom metric to CloudWatch. Check out MSP360 (previously Cloudberry backup) . I used this product exclusively back in the day for my customers and it's only gotten better. It's a great managed cloud backup application. The initial setup can challenge the non-tech user, but other than that, it's intuitive. You can also white-label it. Supports Mac, Linux, Windows. Not free, but very good. Source: about 2 years ago
