7 Product Hunt Alternative Sites To Submit Or Find Latest Tech
This is a website that delivers you the replacement or alternatives of any app or website you are looking for. Just like Product Hunt lists the new tech, apps or websites, AlternativeTo works in a similar way. Users only have to enter the name of any app or tech and it will display a list of services that have a similar objective. In this way, not only you find new...
15 Best Product Hunt Alternatives 2023
Although AlternativeTo lists all the essential information such as license type and platform at the top of every entry, it does not have a comparison table listing the applications or software features side by side.
77,686 approved products
Last week I added a new dynamic data point to the homepage of SaaSHub - the number of all approved products. As of now, there are a total of 77,686 approved products. It may not seem much, but it's just 5,000 behind one of my top competitors - AlternativeTo. Of course, the number of listed products isn't paramount. What is most important is the quality of the suggested...
Postgres Trigram indexes VS Algolia
One of the top competitors of SaaSHub - alternativeto.net is using Algolia for their search autocomplete. I'd suggest testing their search and SaaSHub's. You won't find many differences in the UX or speed.

Does it make sense to have a monthly subscription for a premium listing in a software marketplace? : Entrepreneur
The second option I'm considering is accepting sponsorships and displaying sponsors' logos at the bottom of most pages. I just don't want to clutter the site with "regular" ads. For example, one of my biggest competitors is "AlternativeTo.net" and their UI is a bit cluttered and "noisy".

  • I want to create IMDB for Open source projects
This is the best that I've ever used to search for similar software: https://alternativeto.net/ No alternative to it that I'm aware of. - Source: Hacker News / 22 days ago
  • I want to create IMDB for Open source projects
Https://alternativeto.net/ fills that role for me, it has crowd-sourced reviews, searchable facets, and of course recommendations. - Source: Hacker News / 22 days ago
  • Browse Self-Hosted Software
    > None of these lists ever seem to be as fleshed out, up to date, or well organized as https://github.com/awesome-selfhosted/awesome-selfhosted or "best of" lists to pick a couple options to evaluate in more depth. If I analyzed 10 times as many options I might discover really wonderful projects I would have otherwise missed, but I struggle to imagine having that kind of time. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
  • Thinking about switching, what am I giving up?
There are plenty of video editors available. Go to alternativeto.net which allows you to search for, well, alternatives to your existing apps. Source: 5 months ago
  • Alternatives?
Just recently I created a post showcasing a library I wrote and the first comment was: there is this other package that does that already. Sure it does, sort of, but its not a silver bullet just as pretty much anything. For applications there are platforms like https://alternativeto.net/ where people can vote for/against them, suggest alternatives and describe the differences between them. I've googled for... • Transfer a domain
Thank you for your response. I admit I was lazy at first. I got a dodgy feeling when I did a renewal for one domain in August 2022, but I figured I would move it before the next renewal. Now cis.net is telling me that I would be in breach of the hosting contract that I first "signed" when I signed up for hosting via a cnet.com promotion back in 2020. Supposedly the contract renews at the same terms and I am not... Source: 10 months ago
  • Who in this group know DOS
I still use dos today. especially when diagnosing network issues. Need to know you router IP address? start / run / type cmd and then ipconfig. It displays your ip address and that of your default gateway (your router). Then simply run a ping to an outside source. I ping cnet.com as I know they will respond. You can run a tracert to cnet.com and it will show your time between hops and where the issue may be... Source: 11 months ago
  • What is the best place to get unbiased news?
Another website I remember scoring well was CNET.com, which was random, but a bonus if you're into tech stuff. In addition to tech stuff (which is of course their main bread & butter), they'll cover things going on in the news (ex: legislation, Covid, world news) as big things come up. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Is a personal blog the best way to promote your Software Projects in 2022?
I wonder about this too...because of the competitiveness of getting eyeballs on the internet--you need 200,000 impressions/view per day with Google AdSense to your site to make around $70K / year--I tend to think that it is very difficult to get your blog viewed, given how much traffic-driven websites really need the views. Thus, you should probably try to use a downloadable software website like amazon.com or... Source: over 1 year ago
