Gentoo could provide an easy way to learn about init systems other than systemd. But in practice, coming from Arch, Artix is probably a better choice for most of the alternatives except for OpenRC (Gentoo or Alpine is better for that) and the traditional LSB init.d setup (where Devuan is really the only practical option anymore). Maybe try installing a different distro, as it could be an issue with the installer. EXE GNU/Linux is very similar to Q4OS Trinity, alternatively there's antiX, for example. You would at least be able to see if it's a general problem or just one installer. Source: 5 months ago
