This isn't really Chromecast - it's 'raspicast' and needs it's own app. There are tons of similarly titled howtos that make it sound like you can run your own chromecast server -- you can't, unless you buy an expensive thing from airserver.com or a cheap chromecast. I have yet to find any real opensource chromecast server. Source: about 1 year ago
  • How to cast TO my Linux PC like if it's a Chromecast target? Is there an app that "simulates" a Chromecast receiver? I need it to cast the screen from my Chromebook tablet to my Linux PC.
On Windows and Mac, there's Airserver - https://airserver.com. Source: over 1 year ago

AudioRelay mentions (17)

  • Phone mix?
Nice tip, https://audiorelay.net also works nicely. Streaming the ASIO driver is a bit fiddly, but can be done with Jack 2 audio connection kit. Source: 12 months ago
  • Wireless Dongle for 3.5mm Headset (see attached pic) is there something like that? cant find anything online. Dont really know what to search for.
I also had the same conundrum as you but I didn't want to spend money so I used this: https://audiorelay.net/. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Stream my PC audio through my notebook speakers
I see a lot of software that can stream a desktop audio through a phone, like Soundwire or Audiorelay, but I'm looking for something to use my notebook speakers instead and I can't seem to find one. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Audio layout for duel pc steaming (info in comments)
2- Install AudioRelay software on both computers. This is an amazing software and simple as it can be. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Anyway to stream Real-Time audio from my Windows PC to my phone
When I was on android I used this https://audiorelay.net/, but havent found any replacement good enough. Airfoil hasnt been updated in 3 years and has multiple seconds of delay. Source: over 1 year ago
