This isn't really Chromecast - it's 'raspicast' and needs it's own app. There are tons of similarly titled howtos that make it sound like you can run your own chromecast server -- you can't, unless you buy an expensive thing from airserver.com or a cheap chromecast. AnyDesk works very well. It's a remote desktop software available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Free for home use. I personally used it on all three OSs (specific flavors of Linux were Mint and Pop!_OS, both Ubuntu derivatives, so it should work on Ubuntu itself). Source: 11 months ago
