HLSL need DirectX9, however, it is not compatible with Windows 10/11. To make it work, download DirectX End-User Runtime, use 7-zip to open the file and extract only the Jun2010_* files somewhere. Open a command prompt where you extracted the files and run:. Source: about 1 year ago
Most versions of Windows 10 and 11 should be able to open it natively as if it was any DVD inserted, but if not, download 7-Zip and open it with that. Not sure about Mac users as I'm not a Mac user, so you're on your own there. I really hope you all enjoy.
