  • Let MB know I know about new nanny ???? đŸ˜©
I found it on care.com. Im waiting for her to say what she has to say Wednesday to make my next move because agencies obv want references. Source: 5 months ago
  • Care.com struggles
Just like most online narrative reviews people would rarely have reason to come here and post "I love care.com I just found a nanny!" it's a pointless post, people only tend to post to complain or get help with an issue. Care.com is more popular than ever and in most markets it's far and away the most popular app outside of Facebook and its various groups. I like the site but can still acknowledge its gotten worse... • Asking for industry standards led to me quitting
I'm glad you stood up for yourself, in this situation, but a word of caution that much like how the care.com calculator skews low, that one skews a bit high and can fluctuate. I just looked it up and for my area I am making what it suggests...for twins. I have the highest rate I know of (mind you, only after generous raises). I've talked to other nannies with more experience who make up to $5 less than me. Look at... Source: 5 months ago
  • What to do when parents sell their house.
Absolutely don't go into any home that's not government funded. If you have extra cash, pay it to hire someone through, e.g., care.com to visit your Dad in the home and provide extra assistance. Much cheaper to pay for some extra support in a publicly funded facility than to go into a 100% privately-funded one. Source: 5 months ago
  • Euclid - Need a ride to/from upcoming surgery - Dec. 12
Did you use care.com to find your ride? Source: 5 months ago
  • Nannies?
We have a nanny 4 days/week for our 1-year-old who has been wit us since babe was 8 weeks. It's more expensive than daycare obviously, but it's the best money we spend imo. The flexibility in scheduling is huge for us, since some days we have late events and need 12-8/9 instead of 9-5 and things like that (I also own my own business). The best part has been having another person in our "village" who cares so... Source: 5 months ago
  • Anyone else applying literally never get responses?
Honestly sending in my interest at this point feels like I'm talking to bots. Like I feel like I can say anything to these people cuz they will not see it or they just are not real accounts. Truly a blind shot in the dark. I have applied to so many available positions on Facebook and care.com (i have a 5 star review but basic membership) and I literally never, ever get responded to. They rarely even view my... Source: 5 months ago
  • Have you ever hired someone to care for your kids with diabetes?
Hi everyone, have you ever hired someone to care for kids with diabetes? My adorable boy (3y/o) is suffering from t1 diabetes and I want to take care of him all day, but my husband and I need to go to work
and we recently moved to a new town where there are no family and friends who can help my son. I’m interested in hiring someone who can take a look at my son at home, but I don’t know how to find it. Can I find... Source: 6 months ago
  • Are care.com rate expectations in gross or net?
Are the recurring job rates mentioned by nannies in their care.com profile based on gross pay or net pay? I'm looking to hire a full time nanny on W2. Source: 6 months ago
  • Getting babysitter jobs in NYC
Does anyone have any suggestions on finding babysitting positions in NYC. I know care.com and sitter city are popular, but I am in the US on a visa, and both those sites require a US ID card to apply. Source: 7 months ago
  • Care.com is the WORST - help! How do I cancel my subscription if they wont let me login on my desktop and the app is broken!?
The mobile app just goes to a white screen. I've tried deleting and re downloading it multiple times. When I go to care.com to log in on my browser, it just takes me to a page that says "go download our app." I cannot even get logged into my account or get to a login page, I just get redirected to the "download our broken app page." How do I cancel my subscription if I cant even get into my account? lol. Source: 7 months ago
  • ISO nanny or nanny share in New Haven
I live in new haven and I'm looking for a part time nanny or nanny share for my son. Ideally, we would love to host a nanny share with another family or the nanny's own child/children. We have a two family home - I work from home in one unit, the other would be available for the nanny and children. Does anyone have any recommendations for resources they have personally used or resources specific to the area? I... Source: 7 months ago
  • Childcare / Babysitter Availability for Friday? And what time do shows usually start and run until?
My question is, once the times are released, do websites like care.com typically get flooded with requests and then it becomes hard to find a babysitter? Or would it be relatively easy to find a babysitter? Or would tickets still be available if I waited to purchase them until I can see the bands times, just to make sure it would work with any sitters? And are there any other good childcare or babysitting services... Source: 8 months ago
  • tips on messaging potential NFs on care.com
Hi! I'm trying to break into nannying (or at least babysitting more) after babysitting for years and am new to care.com. I'm looking for any advice on how to message people who've posted job listings on the website. What should I say? Source: 8 months ago
  • Wanting to hire a nanny in the Denver area but overwhelmed
I decided it'd be a good time to look into possibly getting a nanny and joined care.com. I'm a bit surprised by the expectations of nannies out here. I'm by no means wanting to screw anyone over. I was thinking a $25/hr budget for my kid with a couple of weeks off per year and 36-40 hours a week. What I'm finding is there's a really weird gap in pay and I'm not sure what to expect with what I pay. For instance one... Source: 9 months ago
  • Advice needed re: finding a 2nd job babysitting
Ask your NF if they'd feel comfortable recommending you to their parent friends. If you do pickup/dropoff at daycare/school, start chatting up some of the moms and give them your number. There are local FB and Nextdoor groups in my neighborhood and I always browse those. I've not had success with care.com, but I know that others here have. Source: 9 months ago
  • Need to Make a Little Over $500 in 2 Weeks.
I am 18 years old and need to make around $500 by August 17th. I desperately need this money, some is money I owe people, and the rest is to replace the rotors on my car. I have tried applying for jobs, but cannot work almost anywhere because I am leaving for college in less than a month. I have tried selling a few pieces of furniture on facebook marketplace, but do not have very much to sell and nobody seems to... Source: 9 months ago
  • Any good resources for finding a daily (potentially live-in) caregiver for my 97-year-old grandmother?
I'd rather not go through an agency or care.com to start. Anyone have a recommendation? Source: 9 months ago
  • Unreliable Nanny
Just a comment- I think most of us agree that care.com is notorious for underpricing nannies. Source: 9 months ago
  • Non Emergency Medical Transportation Recommendations?
I utilized the services of a RN once who did these type transports. Unfortunately she moved away. However, I want to recommend against online brokers such as care.com and real-life brokers as well, because they really screw over the workers with the fees they collect. Source: 10 months ago
  • Entitled volunteer cuts into a whole cake
I will say this if the sister reads. Please get help, there are places with good recommendations for babysiters and such. I get it your tired, 3 boys is a handful and with how your husband is so standoffish is not helping at all. Your being an AH to your brother. Yes your husband is tired to, being a SAHM is a job in itself. But you can expect others to drop everything to help, they have lives to. You do need rest... Source: 10 months ago
