We have tracked the following product recommendations or mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you see what people think about bauh and what they use it for.
  • Imade a simple shell script program to manage packages in Linux. Currently it supports apt, flatpak, snap. It can probably be useful for someone.
Like bauh which supports AppImage, Arch packages (including AUR), Debian packages, Flatpak, Snap and native Web applications. Source: 10 months ago
  • Problems installing many apps
If you really want a GUI package manager that doesn't break EndeavourOS, I've had a good experience with bauh when I started using EOS. But I also do everything with yay now, as others have suggested, it is more convenient once you know the commands. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Name a program that doesn't get enough love!
Lastly, deb-get + pacstall + bauh. All of these combined covers 99% of my software needs, much less need to find and install PPAs and .deb manually. Still not as convenient as AUR, but much better than it was before. Hopefully, eventually everything is on Flatpak, snap, or AppImage so I could just use Bauh for most apps, but for now, I'm glad that these tools exists. Source: over 1 year ago
  • BalenaEtcher appimage is not clickable?
Is it an AppImage? Did you make it executable? If you use a lot of AppImages then you may want to add DE integration via their utility. I do not use it, as it runs a backgroudn daemon, I prefer using bauh instead. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Boutique: a Flatpak app store (alpha) feedbacks are welcome
You can use bauh. Supports AppImage, Arch packages (including AUR), Debian packages, Flatpak, Snap and native Web applications. GitHub. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • POP OS! brought me here
Although, if I had to I would personally suggest bauh if you want a graphical package manager. I haven't had any issues with using it, and neither have I seen people complaining about it. It also supports the following formats: AUR packages, AppImages, Flatpak, Snap and Web applications. It also integrates with Timeshift to provide a simple and safe backup process before applying changes to your system. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • "AM" and AppMan - that's why they don't include support for AppImageHub and similar sites
The preferred sources for downloading packages in AppImage format via "AM" / AppMan are GitHub and Sourceforge, however, writing installation scripts that are compatible with one or more programs is a difficult task. Just think that many developers add multiple versions of the same product in the same tag (I have to include also commands to find the exact name of the latest version to avoid the download of other... • When creating a desktop entry, the icon does not apply everywhere.
Here both the official Telegram app as well as 64Gram works as expected. Did you install any AppImage integration tool? I do not use any, just bauh for handling manually installed apps (it also manages the ones from AppImageHub, among other things). Source: about 2 years ago
  • Was my KDE Plasma supposed to come with Discover? Because it's not here
Use yay or if you like GUI ( with flatpak etc support ) try bauh https://github.com/vinifmor/bauh. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Is shifting to Pop OS 21.10 is a good idea?
With that said, there are absolutely good things going with PopOS as I will say that their PopShop is one of the best GUI software centre I've used, even if I do prefer to use Bauh and Pamac-GUI most of the time as they're more complete (Bauh especially). Their newer repo stuff is also very nice, as I prefer Ubuntu-base but also want something more up to date than Ubuntu's defaults. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Other AppImage integration detected
I stopped using AppImageLauncher a long time ago because I don't like the fact that it runs a background daemon all the time. Instead I use bauh, that also helps with other. You just need pip: Pip install -U bauh. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Webapps Manager
Many browser provide this feature, it was added to Vivaldi recently. Ungoogle Chromium has it for a long time. Or use bauh, it has a builtin nativefier. Source: over 2 years ago
