In you opinion is it better to code the arduino in the arduino language or c++, and do you prefer the arduino IDE or vs code IDE

The Arduino IDE is quite primitive though, and poorly suited for larger or complex projects - if it starts getting in my way I'll feed my project to kate and a makefile.
