Best free diagram tool alternative in 2023?

Whimsical Miro Excalidraw flowchart.fun
  1. The visual workspace for teams.
My way-to-go tool in the past year and a half is Whimiscal. It is by far one of the best tools I've used to make architectural diagrams. The main reason is that the end result is beautiful by default. They nailed the UI. I am an engineer with bad graphical design skills, but the result makes people think I invested a lot of time polishing the design of my visualizations, choosing the right color tone, aligning boxes, etc, which I didn't. The tool just helped me. Big win! :).

Scalable, secure, cross-device and enterprise-ready team collaboration tool for distributed teams. Join 2M+ users & 8000+ teams from around the world.
Https://miro.com/ - Seems also a tool that nailed the UI and will help make beautiful diagrams without major efforts. But, also has a limit. By their pricing table, I couldn't really understand what it is. Maybe someone has used it and can throw some light.

Flowchart.fun (shameless plug) is one that I'm building. It's text-first, like mermaid or graphviz, but it's also interactive so you can swap out layout algorithms or drag nodes to suit your needs.
