Reddit is a company that will go public later this year and is worth billions of dollars. Moderators are free labor that keeps Reddit alive. Mods should stopping working for free.

Easiest way, go to https://lemmy.ml and join. No email needed but it does take approval to try to limit spam/bot accounts. You can host your own server which you would federate with the other servers so you share content (black listing servers you deem inappropriate). But there’s no need to.
