The ideal place to use Shadow (for me) is on a 2013 macbook pro that Apple has shuffled off of it's update line. The library of apps that work on it is dwindling, but it's still a capable machine. I put Manjaro Linux with i3wm on it and it's been covering all of my gaming and Windows related tasks quite well this way.
