Need help finding possible wallet key on old hard drive

If you want to install bitcoin core you can get it from bitcoin.org. But depending on what you want to do it’s probably not the best option. If you want to get into bitcoin and want to make sure your coin stays save you should get a hardware wallet. Bitbox 2 is a great option: https://shiftcrypto.ch/ If you are just going to have a few dollars in crypto, and aren’t too worried about it possibly getting stolen you are probably ok keeping your private keys on your local drive. In that case personally I would go with Electrum: https://electrum.org The main advantage is that it doesn’t need to download the whole chain to your local computer (several hundred gigs). Also bitcoin.org has a little wizard on their website that asks you what’s important to you (security, transparency, etc) and will recommend wallets to you based on your preferences.
