Not the first time we're seeing this point raised recently, but this is such a stupid take. chess.com could very well just say: "hey, according to our methods, you were cheating, and therefore you are permanently banned" (of course there's an appeal process). The fact that they are willing to give you a second (or even third, in Dlugy's case) chance does not make it unethical in any way. You are free to refuse this deal and play on any competitor site.

The premise is complete bullshit, if you are excused of cheating and you did not cheat you say "fuck you" and you play on lichess.org.
