If you go this way you could set up Ubuntu on the Droplet and enable SSH. Use Prompt 2 on the iPad for SSH access, and use VS Code as your IDE and GitHub as your code repo for backup / version control. You can also check out Blink Shell on the iPad. I have it but I haven’t used it a lot yet. It does look very, very good though: https://blink.sh.
