Here’s what I think (about GMErica)

Walmart Nike+ FuelBand Barnes Noble
  1. Find quality products at unbeatable prices at home, in our stores or on the go.
I don't nevermind because I think you're right. I think the same thing. You used to buy a book at Barnes and Noble. Then you could buy a book at barnesandnoble.com. Then Amazon consolidated all of these things into one called Amazon.com. I think Cohen is consolidating the consolidators. He is trying to do to websites what websites did to malls. You won't be surfing from nike.com to walmart.com. You'll enter the GMERICA MALL and they will all be there. You can walk from the Nike store to the Apple store. You'll see a sign at buybuybaby that diapers are on sale and you'll interact with your social group "Hey Mary, diapers on sale at buybuybaby". The buying experience will be just that....an experience. When you walk into a grocery store they purposely keep the milk in the back. they do it so you have to walk past the gummy bears and the potato chips. You went in for milk but walked out with milk, cookies and bread. The Metaverse Mall (or whatever you want to call it) will trigger the same. How will Cohen sell this idea to the companies he wants on his marketplace? Its easy. He says to Nike "I have a guy looking for a Tesla and in the course of him researching his car he will see "Nike High Hiking Boots On Sale". Nike will say wait a second...you're going to walk a Tesla buyer right by more store? Cohen says yes....Okay...where do I sign? I think what we are seeing with The Metaverse are things like what I saw from Facebook and imho it was just flat out creepy. Cohen knows this. It isn't going to be creepy...its going to be fun. Going to the store won't be a chore. It'll be much like playing a video game you can customize. You can both quickly buy a gallon or milk or you can walk around and window shop with your best friend who happens to like 600 miles away. Someone elsewhere said it better than I can. Cohen isn't taking on Amazon....he is taking on the internet itself and when I do thought experiments and just what it might look like I think he's going to win.
