I am thinking of making a Linux app for automating simple tasks, just like a shell script but with a GUI (mockup attached.) Does anything like this exist already, and if not where should I ask for help in creating such an app?

  2. SikuliX automates anything you see on the screen of your desktop computer running Windows, Mac or some Linux/Unix.
    Check out SikuliX, it says it works in some Linux but not sure why it wouldn't work on some. I used it in windows before and it's a pretty neat visual way to automate things http://sikulix.com/.
