It may not be your account that got exposed. Check out the website haveibeenpwned.com & do a password search. Since Google is not going to know your actual password, they're basing this on the password hash. So maybe there's been some data breach somewhere & one of the hashed passwords matches your password's hash, meaning it's the same password, even if Google doesn't know what the password is.

But any password that you find at haveibeenpwned.com is unsafe to use. These known passwords are the first ones a threat actor is going to check so consider them unusable. Another good website to check is dehashed.com.
