Sure, use it all the time. Yubikeys are good for FIDO, etc., but also have the ability to pump out a static password. You can take things much further with an OnlyKey (onlykey.io) or a Bluink key (bluink.ca) and others. With a Yubikey, you do have to download a Yubikey app and enter the password in the one time. That's it. Works on all computer types without any software required, and is MUCH simpler than other products. There are NO software, hardware, bluetooth, etc. requirements. "Does it work for login after a reboot, or just from sleep?" It is essentially a HID device. Works in ALL situations.
